Pocket Money
Part One
Art Direction & Photography
2025

The night stretches on, long past closing time. You’ve spent every last coin on drinks, cigarettes, and taxi fares that never happened. The streets hum under flickering neon, the cold biting through sequins and silk. Smudged glitter clings to tired faces, and heels click unevenly on the pavement. The world feels both hazy and electric—somewhere between drunk and dreaming.

Cookbook
Final Major Project
2025

This cookbook is a gritty, funny, and oddly charming tribute to student cooking—the kind that happens at 2am, hungover, on a budget, or in the middle of a deadline panic. It doesn’t pretend to be polished or healthy. Instead, it leans into the chaos: the burnt toast, microwave meals, half-eaten leftovers, and experimental recipes made from whatever’s in the fridge.

Reinvent the Story
Motion Graphics & Kinetic Type
2025

This motion graphics piece is inspired by Naked Lunch by William Burroughs—a text known for its fragmented narrative, hallucinatory imagery, and chaotic exploration of addiction, control, and surveillance. Rather than directly adapting the story, the animation translates its psychological intensity and disorienting tone into a visual language.

The piece reflects the book’s nonlinear structure and shifting perspectives through organic, morphing forms and erratic pacing. Shapes swell and collapse, typography appears and fractures, and the overall visual rhythm is deliberately unstable—mirroring Burroughs’ depiction of altered states and unreliable realities.

Glitter Rats
Publication
2025

Glitter Rats is a grunge-inspired group magazine that explores the raw, chaotic energy of nightlife and club culture. The concept is rooted in the gritty, unpredictable spirit of a night out—capturing everything from euphoric highs to messy, fragmented memories.

Visually, the magazine embraces a DIY, zine-like aesthetic with cut-out effects, layered textures, and a deliberately unpolished layout style to reflect the spontaneity and rebellion of club life. Aimed at a young, creative audience immersed in underground scenes and alternative subcultures, Glitter Rats balances the grimy and the glamorous, offering a visual and editorial snapshot of what it feels like to lose yourself in the crowd.

Splashy
Book Layout and Design
2025

Splashy is a visually-led book that celebrates the history and vibrant spirit of South Africa’s friendliest festival, Splashy Fen. Designed as a largely image-based publication, the layout prioritises full-bleed photography, candid crowd shots, and immersive visuals that capture the heart of the Drakensberg-based event.

The design approach is clean and spacious, allowing the energy and emotion of the imagery to take centre stage while using minimal, thoughtfully placed text to guide the reader through the festival’s rich past and evolving culture.

Art Direction & Photography

Chomp - Shoot
Art Direction & Photography
2025

The concept for this shoot, created for my cookbook, blends gritty 90s-inspired aesthetics with a satirical, surreal lens on student life and cooking. It explores the chaos, humour, and honesty of how students really eat—capturing scenes of empty wrappers, messy kitchens, cigarette ash, and late-night snacking in a way that feels both exaggerated and painfully real.
